Agneepath Scheme Change
Reservation will be given in the jobs of Ministry of Defense
Amid protests against the Agneepath scheme across the country, Defense Minister Rajnath Singh on Saturday announced that 10 per cent reservation would be given to Agniveers in Defense Ministry jobs. The Defense Ministry tweeted that the Agniveers would be given 10 percent reservation. This quota will be different from the existing reservation for ex-servicemen.
Assam Rifles and Para Military Forces will get 10% quota
During the launch of the scheme, it was informed that the soldiers returning after serving as Agniveers would be given priority in the recruitment of Para Military Forces and Assam Rifles. However, how this priority would be lived and what the rules would be, it was not clear. Now amid protests, the Home Ministry has announced that Agniveers will be given 10 percent quota in the recruitment of Para Military Forces and Assam Rifles.
Age relaxation will also be available in the recruitment of para military forces
There was also an age-related concern regarding the enlistment of the paramilitary forces after the withdrawal of the Agniveers from the army. Removing this also, the government has announced a relaxation of three years in the maximum age limit. For common youth, this age will be 23 years, while an Agniveer can join the paramilitary forces till the age of 26 years. Not only this, for the first batch, this relaxation will be of 5 years. This means that the first batch of Agniveers will be able to join the paramilitary forces and the Assam Rifles till the age of 28.
First batch of Agniveers got 2 years relaxation
This was the first change under which the government raised the upper age limit for the recruitment of the first batch of Agniveers from 21 to 23 years. The logic behind this is that due to Corona, the recruitment was stopped for two years. In such a situation, it is necessary to give relief to the people who were overaged in these two years.
Big relaxation in Merchant Navy recruitment
It was announced by the Shipping Ministry on Saturday itself that Agniveers working with the Navy would be recruited in the Merchant Navy. For them 6 service avenues have been declared by the Merchant Navy.

Meanwhile, IGNOU has announced that a graduation course is being designed by it, under which certificates will be given to Agniveers. Agniveers who enroll in this course will get 50 percent credit on the skills acquired in the Army. Apart from this, the remaining 50 percent credit will be given on the basis of examinations related to the course.
