The ongoing agitation against Agneepath scheme in Bihar has now turned violent. After Bihar Deputy CM Renu Devi, now the house of Bihar BJP President Sanjay Jaiswal was also attacked. Firing also took place at Jaiswal’s house.
Protest Against Agneepath: Fire in trains in Bhagalpur, operations stalled
The train service has also come to a standstill on Friday in protest against the Agneepath Army Recruitment Scheme. Due to the disruption of the train route beyond Bhagalpur, long distance trains were not run. Students are protesting at Kahalgaon station on Friday. Bhagalpur-Dadar Express originating from Bhagalpur has been cancelled. There is also confusion regarding the opening of Up Vikramshila Express. Its departure time is 11.50 hrs during the day.
Agneepath Protest: Arson and stone pelting in Bihar’s Begusarai protest against Agneepath, SP took the lead
In protest against Agneepath, students opened fire at Lakhminia station in Begusarai district of Bihar and stone pelted near Har Har Mahadev Chowk. Due to this many papers of the station got burnt. However, the fire was brought under control by the railway administration. On hearing the news of arson in Lakhminia, the police dispersed the protesting students. At the same time, at Begusarai station also, students tried to vandalize but were thwarted by the police.
After that more than 100 police forces under the leadership of SP Yogendra Kumar reached near the station. Flag marches were conducted on both sides of the station. Simultaneously, police were deployed on both sides of the station and on both the platforms.
The SP said that the students’ movement in the district is peaceful. There has been an incident of arson only at Lakhminia station. In view of the movement of students, police have been deployed on the NH including the railway station. The SP said that hooliganism will not be allowed in the name of agitation.
Fire of protest spread to Agneepath till Hyderabad; Train lit by protesters, passengers injured in stone pelting
In Hyderabad too, youths have opposed the Centre’s Agneepath scheme. Hundreds of candidates aspiring for the Army Recruitment Exam on Friday attacked the Secunderabad Railway Station. They pelted stones, torched two bogies of the train and damaged other railway properties.
